David Llewellyn Green's handwriting...

One of our company's first projects is releasing the majority of  the Organ works by British composer David Llewellyn Green (1935-2014). A composer, whose output of music for Organ, Piano and many other instruments as well as writing Chamber and Choral music, spanned some 50 years. Releasing the Organ pieces of David Llewellyn Green is a great pleasure for us at EJ Music Publishing. And not just because it is great for a starting company to have the opportunity to release a composer's whole oeuvre...

...One of the reasons why it is such a pleasure to publish his music is that we have to notate all his music from the original handwritten scores. Yes, for hundreds of years composers had to write their music their music with a quill, but David Llewellyn Green's handwritten scores are significant: His handwriting is so impressive and so tidy, that it is a pleasure to go through every single note he wrote down. What makes it even more poignant is the knowledge that in the final years of his life he couldn't even lift a pen due to him suffering with the ghastly Parkinson's Disease. So as a tribute to David Llewellyn Green we added his handwriting to the covers of his sheet music!
