Skye Air for Organ, Op. 47 — Egbert Juffer
Transport your audience to the Hebrides with this evocative organ piece inspired by the Isle of Skye, where Dutch-British composer Egbert Juffer lives and writes his music. Written on May 16th, 2024 as a tribute to the Isle of Skye, 'Skye Air' unfolds in flowing lyrical lines above a sustained pedal-point drone that recalls the resonance of Highland bagpipes, capturing both the beauty and the quiet mystery of the landscape, making it perfect for meditative moments in recital or worship.
On June 11th, 2025, American organist Carson Cooman gave this piece it's concert premiere, by performing it in a recital at The Memorial Church, Harvard University.
