6 Carols for Tenor and Piano, Op. 42 — Egbert Juffer

This festive collection by Dutch-British composer Egbert Juffer brings together six well-known Christmas Carols in fresh arrangements for tenor and piano. Written by Egbert Juffer in November/December 2023, these Carol settions premiered in the 2023 Christmas Recital on December 23rd, 2023 performed by Egbert Juffer (Tenor) and Jeroen Sarphati (Grand Piano). The set of 6 Carols includes:

Adeste Fideles – A jubilant opening Carol, marked Moderato, with bright piano chords supporting the familiar melody.

Süßer die Glocken nie klingen – A tender German Carol evoking the sound of bells, set with warm lyricism.

Once in Royal David’s City – A noble and dignified setting, marked Maestoso, ideal for processional use.

Stille Nacht (Silent Night) – An Espressivo arrangement of the beloved Austrian carol, intimate and lyrical.

Tu scendi dalle stelle – A flowing Italian cradle song, graceful and expressive, with gentle piano support.
