Egbert Juffer: Passacaglia in D minor for Organ, Opus 4 (.PDF)
Written on January 3rd, 2018, this early Organ work by Egbert Juffer is a compact Passacaglia on a Theme by Purcell. It presents a solemn ground bass followed by four Variations, and shows Juffer’s early interest in form and architecture, which he explores through many of his later works. By contrast, his later Passacaglia in G minor, Opus 17, expands the Passacaglia form into a large-scale work, making this 4th Opus an early miniature predecessor.
